Programme to include: Brahms Cello Sonata in F Major

This engaging lunchtime programme features at its heart Brahms’ Cello Sonata in F major. The sonata was one of three of Brahms’ best loved chamber works, composed during a retreat in Switzerland during the summer of 1886. Its whirlwind of energy portrays strong suggestions
of a composer much younger than the 53-year-old Brahms.

Versatile cellist Lydia Shilling and pianist Laura Dickson are currently studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
