Cast Spell by G L Horton (Thriller) The setting is the bare stage of the tiny run down theatre where an original small-cast musical has been playing for the past three weekends. The majority of the cast and crew have slipped away, too depressed by the negative review that came out in the morning paper to want to stay for the planned closing night party. Those who remain find their night turns dangerous when the actors begin to dabble in the occult. Though it is a thriller, there are lighter moments of comedy before the suspense really starts to build. Was 'The Heart Tried by Sorrow' as bad as the Chritic said? About the cast. I am Doug Kirby a mature student and single parent, until last year working as a movie and TV extra but now serious about acting. I am directing the play and have a minor cameo in the opening moments as Steve ‘the Director’. Now for the real stars, in order of appearance. All this after only 9 days with a script and the college being shut for weekends and snow days!
