Co-commissioned by ICIA to complement the 2012 theme of Internationalism, Hold Everything Dear has at its heart ideas of migration and transience. It is an attempt to convey something about leaving, arriving, letting go, holding dear. For this new opus, Laïla Diallo is joined by composer Jules Maxwell, with a specially commissioned live score, and by an outstanding cast of dancers and musicians.

Hold Everything Dear was originally commissioned by ROH2 at the Royal Opera House in March 2012. Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. La Joaquina, founder member, choreographer and director of Flamenco Express has been touring Britain since 1996 and now hosts a regular night of top Spanish talent at her monthly club 'Harry's Place'. Trained at Laban and later by Merce Cunningham, Jean Pierre Perrault, Eduardo Lopez, Paco Perez, and Carmen Cortés. She has worked with Christina Hoyos, Paco Peña and others in London, Madrid, Tokyo, New York, Montreal, Toronto, Paris and throughout Europe.
Magdalena Mannion has studied extensively at the flamenco academies Amor de Dios and Conservatorio de Flamenco Casa Patas in Madrid and the Fundacion Cristina Heeren in Seville. In 2011 she formed part of Tito Losada's flamenco company, including a tour to Beijing with the show Las Mil y Una Noches and a collaboration with the Beijing Dance Centre. Magdalena has been accepted into the international flamenco dance company Flamenco Superstars alongside dancers such as Kelian Jimenez and Pol Vaquero and will start working with them in 2012. She gained her HE dipoloma in Contemporary dance from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and studied on the International Student Programme at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio in New York.
The night will also feature the great percussionist Rafael Casado, who will be travelling from Madrid, alongside two guest artists to be announced, on guitar and voice.

Thought you'd escaped the perils of the city for the tranquillity and safety of sleepy rural England? Think again!
Top Secret documents have revealed there's a bomb hidden somewhere in Bath, and if it's not found soon, the city's inhabitants may discover they have something more in common with Pompeii than just the Romans.
Taking place around the streets of Bath, those undertaking the mission should be prepared to combine their grey matter with that of their fellow sleuths to help save the city. They might find they’re a bit pushed for time as well, with only about 90 minutes or so to stop the devastation!
Combining on-street gaming and live theatre, this performance promises its participants an experience nothing short of dynamite.

A Journey of a Home is a one-on-one audio performance walk which takes you on a voyage. A voyage you’ve never taken before - the biggest one so far. With themes of identity, border crossing and migration at the heart of the work, the piece captures the moment where we simultaneously look towards the future and back at what we have just left, in which hope meets reality.
A Journey of a Home takes approximately 15 minutes. The work consists of two elements - the audio performance walk and the interactive Journey booth where you can share your own journeys and read about other people's.
