The Ashley Wood Festival aims to present high-quality music, poetry, and theatre in a beautiful location in West Wiltshire. We present a range work from children's theatre, physical theatre and comedy, to new writing and experimental work. The festival is small-scale and intimate, with a focus on the work presented, and we aim always to keep barriers between audience and performers to a minimum. As far as music goes, this means that everything is presented absolutely acoustically. For theatre work, we work hard to maintain intimacy and immediacy by preferring work that does not require elaborate technical arrangements. We also hope that the festival becomes a useful meeting place for practitioners across a range of disciplines and art forms, resulting in useful contacts and collaborations.
