Ruffled Umbrella aims to make theatre that captivates and surrounds an audience, absorbing them into the world of the play. We aim to make theatre that is accessible to any audience.

As well as touring theatre, we also do educational workshops and private event bookings, for example; at corporate events. 

We are currently (early 2011) working on two productions: The Big Space Adventure is a childrens sci-fi educational show. An Evening at Home with The Austen's is a piece based on Jane Austen's juvenilia. 

The Big Space Adventure is touring around all Pontins venues throughout July and August and also October half term. It is also available for school bookings and is planned for a south-west tour in early 2013. 

An Evening at Home with The Austen's is set to appear at Jane Austen's House Museum in Hampshire in June and also tour locally throughout late 2012/ 2013.

In terms of education, we have a number of workshops that we offer schools, as well as a production based around choosing year nine options.

As part of our private bookings, we offer short scenes of Shakespeare or Austen at events. We find this works really well, and is something a little bit different to entertain friends, family or clientell.
