DORSET VISUAL ARTS - is a Membership organisation for Artists, Designers, Makers,Educators and others involved in the public presentation of the visual arts. The organisationoperates as a charity and trading company. It is developing an increasingly wide range ofevents. Its flagship activity, Dorset Art Weeks, is reputedly the largest, biennial Open Studioevent in the country. Our most notable new project is Dorset Art Trails.
The Post in Outline
DVA seeks a Freelance, Part Time, Administrator and Assistant to the Director with the skills, enthusiasm, initiative and personality to run our day to day administrative operations effectively and to support the development of new projects and events. The post involves forming good working relationships with our members, sponsors, partner organisations and the press.
We wish to appoint someone also able to contribute ideas and other practical skills beyond the scope of the core duties. These will assist to improve the operational effectiveness and raise the profile of the organisation. Examples might be web and mobile based communications and, or, event planning and marketing.
The appointee will need to work flexibly and willing to meet the need for additional, variable commitments of time and duties across different months in the year. Additional time will relate to the timing, scale and budgets of events and projects. Additional fees will be offered for work on these projects - notably Dorset Art Weeks and Dorset Art Trails.
The appointee must provide evidence that they are registered as 'self-employed' and registered for tax purposes. It is essential that the postholder commits to working at critical periods.
Remuneration
Core Commitment and Essential Duties: £100 per week x 48 weeks per annum
Fees for additional work will be agreed in writing on a project by project basis
