Itta Howie is a Bristol-based movement artist specializing in cross-disciplinary improvisation and site-specific performance. Her practice is grounded in somatic and non-stylised movement. She also draws inspiration from release-based contemporary dance, contact improvisation and Butoh. Itta performs, ‘scoreographs’ and leads socially-engaged projects. Her MA Choreography research at Dartington College of Arts in 2010 explored the use of performance to nurture mindful ecological awareness.
