Ian McGlynn

Ian McGlynn studied theatre at Warwick University and Mountview Theatre School, before going on to act and direct professionally. In 2007, Ian was appointed as Theatre Director of The Rondo Theatre in Bath. Ian is also the founder and Artistic Director of Provocation, a theatre company devoted to witty, vivid and literate new writing.

He began his writing career creating comedy sketches for the West End cabaret, Ism. His first full-length play, Reunion, was produced at The Rondo in November 2005. This was followed by a second full-length piece, Presence, in March 2007.

His latest play, An Act of Twisting, combined humour, drama and shocking action to explore the morality of captivity and torture, as well as raise important questions about the treatment of prisoners.

Ian is currently working on a new play about the mechanics of homelessness.
