Helen Bradley

Helen is a versatile community artist specialising in theatre. Her work has included site specific work, devising with different community groups in reaction to a theme and writing new issue based work for use in education settings. She is a dedicated youth and community worker and works in these settings using the arts to help develop peoples individual potential and self confidence. 

Helen has also spent time developing creative writing for performance and for use in visual arts. Her latest collaboration piece was 'Trace', an interactive installation including her poetry translated into Polish. This was exhibited at SLOT art festival in Poland in July 2011. 

Helen works as a performer and director as a workshop leader and facilitator teaching the art form or using it to teach other subjects.

Trace

Trace is an interactive installation piece made for SLOT art festival in Poland. It combines print work, sand, charcoal and poetry to explore themes of journeying and mark making

Pure Creative Arts

'Mirror Mirror', a play about self esteem and eating disorders was written by Helen in 2005 and then adapted with Pure Creative Arts to become a Theatre in Education piece alongside educational workshops around the theme. With Pure, Helen was Creative Development Co-ordinator, in charge of the performance team, writing new material and directing the devising process to create new works. She was involved in 2 other plays, 'Hold Me' and 'Shine' and contributed to the writing of 'Vickys Secret'. With the creative arts school Helen directed many plays including devising a new musical called 'Lost' She also took a group through Guildhall Speech and Drama exams.
