Big State are Company in residence at The Arc in Trowbridge and have devised and toured 7 groundbreaking shows: Gone West, Spaghetti Weston-Super-Mare, Hitting Dennis, Sixteen Types of Happiness, The Fire Starter, Fetch! and Fallen Angels. They have used 16mm and digital film in their last 2 shows and have worked closely with John Nicholson of Peepolykus, Andy Burden of Inneroom and Forkbeard Fantasy. They were commissioned to develop a piece of street theatre for The British Council in Athens in 2008 about identity and immigration and recently created The Bureau to carry out a piece of research for Wiltshire Council.
Big State also run numerous theatre and film workshops with young people for organizations such as the British Council Cairo, Wiltshire Music Centre, WOMAD, Wiltshire Council and schools across the UK. They also regularly run an innovative Work Experience program annually at The Commonweal School in Swindon.
