Welcome to the new look website danceandtheatrewiltshire.net
So why have we changed?
Well www.theatreworks.org.uk has changed into http://danceandtheatrewiltshire.net but don’t worry as the old address will still bring you to the new website offering the same resources, profiles and user accounts. In addition we have added the new option of listing classes that you might be running or putting on. So get listing now!
Where was I? Ah yes as some of you might know a few months ago Theatreworks and Wiltshire Dancing came together to form the new support organisation CEW (Creative Ecology Wiltshire). This means we want to champion the same resources and focus onto both dance and theatre. So we want to help the new look website become just as valuable to the dance community as it has been to the theatre one the past three years. So CEW is funding and running this website as key resource for sharing and offering support and opportunities. We also offer space to our sister areas of Swindon and Bath as there are strong connections within these areas and we want their representation as part of this resource. Bath Dance is also about to become a partner in the website and use is as a resource to map the dance ecology of Bath and North East Somerset.
Dot net (.net) represents you the network of artists, companies, organisations, venues, funders, audiences and participants that the website is set up to serve. You are the community and ecology who should be championed, supported and developed with danceandtheatrewiltshire.net as one way to do this. Over 2500 arts professionals use the site every month and if you add our albow partners in (see albow link on main page) who have access to what you list then its over 360,000 visits a year and rising. So tell they about what you are doing and get them involved in it. Remember this is a completely free resource so there should be no excuse not to engage and interact with everybody.
What we ask in return is your help us to map all the theatre and dance activity in Wiltshire, Swindon and Bath. So help us to include every job, opportunity, class, performance, workshop, news item and all the people, venues and companies working in dance and theatre. We want you to tell us what needs marketing? What needs be part of this website? What you need this website to do and offer?
So spread the word and encourage people to sign up and show just how vibrant the dance and theatre ecology of Wiltshire, Swindon and Bath can be.
