How can we further develop dance in Bath and North East Somerset?

Bath Dance is a new initiative, funded through Arts Council England and hosted by ICIA University of Bath. During the initial phase of Bath Dance I have been meeting and listening to people involved in dance and its many facets in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES). As a next step I would like to invite everyone to come together to connect, share ideas, questions, challenges and visions on how we can further develop dance in our local area.
If the above question is something you care about we would welcome you to explore it with us at a free open space event, hosted by Bath Dance. All are welcome who have a passion or the desire to support dance in B&NES and move it forwards.
The Open Space Event will be held on Thursday 26th April 2012, 2-5.30pm (1.30pm arrival) at the Bath Royal Literary and Science Institution (BRSLI).
This event will provide a space to listen to one another and share your diverse dance experiences and expertise. We are really keen to use this afternoon as the beginning journey of on-going conversations, making connections and sharing our views.
Unlike a normal meeting, an open space event is facilitated in a way that allows the people present to shape the agenda of the day and talk about things that matter to them and the people they work with. When thinking about what you would like to talk about on the day, please also consider any thoughts, questions and ideas you may have around how we create good partnership work, how we can better communicate with one another, how the Creative Producer can best support dance and in what ways we can all come together to support dance in Bath and North East Somerset.
It is really important to us that the whole dance community in B&NES has the opportunity to access this event and I would appreciate it if you could spread this news far and wide. Feel free to forward on this invitation. Anyone with a passion for dance is invited to come.
We have a maximum of 50 places available, which will be on a first come, first serve basis. In order to keep the event free, we are unable to supply lunch, but we will provide lovely cakes, biscuits and refreshments to keep your creative energy going. The majority of the space is accessible.
