A Dance A Day launches in Dorset

No Description

October sees the continuation of a community dance project aimed at the over 50’s which encourages adults across Dorset to get active through dance. A Dance A Day offers weekly dance classes to enhance fitness, wellbeing and creativity. The project aims to highlight to creativity of older people in the context of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Bournemouth is latest area in the county-wide project to receive funding so, in addition to the groups that are already established (in Lyme Regis, Wareham, Christchurch and Portland), Pavilion Dance in Bournemouth will host an additional A Dance A Day group.

Led by qualified dance practitioners each session encourages creative movement, improving fitness and meeting new people as well as the opportunity to devise a personalised dance programme to keep you moving throughout the week. Open to everyone from those who have dance experience but want to try something new or people who have two left feet but love moving to music. All participants in A Dance A Day will have the opportunity to perform in Weymouth and Portland as part of the cultural celebrations during the 2012 Games.
