Hello,
We would like to invite you, in fact anyone who feels passionately about the future of theatre and dance in Wiltshire and beyond, to a meeting at Salisbury Arts Centre on Wednesday 6th July 1pm-5.30pm, called: CEW YOU: How can we make things better for theatre and dance in Wiltshire? All are welcome that have an interest, passion, involvement or desire to get involved with theatre and dance in Wiltshire. We need you to add to the ideas that will form the actions for theatre and dance development. We care and we know you do, so together we think we can make a positive difference.
Creative Ecology Wiltshire (CEW) is a new organisation that has been developed after the coming together of TheatreWorks and Wiltshire Dancing. We need your expertise to explore our ambition to make things better for theatre and dance in Wiltshire.
CEW YOU: How can we make things better for theatre and dance in Wiltshire? will not be a conventional conference or meeting – we want to begin our new journey by being open and inclusive: we want to work together towards a common end. So we’ve asked Seth Honnor (formally of Theatre Bristol) to facilitate an Open Space Event.
If you are unfamiliar with Open Space it is an interactive and inclusive way of structuring a meeting that allows you, the participant, to set the agenda. It is a very dynamic way of talking about complicated and difficult things. You will not be talked at or asked to talk about things you don’t want to. Everything that is said will be recorded and you will get a copy of that document. A strength of Open Space is its ability to unite groups of enormous diversity, to that end we are inviting people from all areas of theatre and dance and beyond.
We have chosen to hold an Open Space as its structure fits with CEW’s ethos of partnership: of working together to achieve something greater than the sum of it’s parts. Things have been shifting and changing in the arts world and we are determined to ensure that our energies at CEW are making positive change driven by your ideas. We need you to come to this event to shape the future of theatre and dance in Wiltshire and beyond.
It is really important that the whole theatre and dance community have the opportunity to attend this so please help us to ensure this information reaches far and wide by passing this invitation on. CEW’s aim is to enable quality theatre and dance to thrive in Wiltshire. We believe that together we are the best placed to inform what is needed to progress this aim and design CEW’s core remit.
CEW YOU: How can we make things better for theatre and dance in Wiltshire? will take place on Wednesday 6th July 1pm -17.30pm at Salisbury Arts Centre, Salisbury. This is a long afternoon but you will be well looked after with tea and coffee freely available as well as tasty cakes and fruit to keep you going. In order to keep the event free we will not be providing lunch so please try to fit this in
before you arrive. The majority of the space is fully accessible.
There will be a maximum of 50 places available, which will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. To book places please click on the link below as soon as possible to book your free place. For further information or questions email dominic@cewwiltshire.org or call 07728914993
So, if you want to contribute to where we go from here and inform how CEW best serves you, we look forward to seeing you on the 6th July
