Parabola Arts Centre in Cheltenham was opened in autumn 2009 and it has just kicked off its first ever season! For those Bristolian audience and artists who fancy the short trip (40 minute train journey / 50 minute drive) to the new venue you can catch the spring programme that includes performances from Bristol natives as well as national artists.
Try Something New: Friday 11th + Saturday 12th March - will host Bristol based Stand + Stare Collective. The Children of Modernity invites you into Rossie's bell tent to uncover the truth about the girl behind a miracle + you can enjoy their (literally) delicious 8 minute 198.
Also featured as part of Try Something New is the Forest Fringe's co-director (save the Forest Fringe) Deborah Pearson's award winning bittersweet video performance Like You Were Before and a durational participatory installation from Ignore the Forecast with The Tree of Lost Things. The evening will also include a talk from recently appointed Artistic Director, Allegra Galvin on how to get involved and show work at this new venue.
The full spring programme includes brilliant works by the following...
...The Plasticine Men's Keepers, Little Bulb's Crocosmia, Pants on Fire's Ovid's Metamorphoses, Caroline Horton's award winning Your Not Like the Other Girls Chrissy, Uninvited Guests' Love Letters Straight to Your Heart, Fuel's collaborative project The Summer House, Bad Physics' Sunday Morning at the Centre of The World
