Anjali Dance Company threatened with closure and seeking support

Anjali Dance Company is in the middle of an amazingly fertile creative period, with both our touring company and our youth dance company producing some of their best work and receiving plaudits from press, public, the good and the great – but, we’ve caught a financial cold from the hostile economic climate and need an urgent cash remedy.

Anjali cannot exist on thrilling inspiring work alone, we need money to make it work.  The Company faces a stark choice either to close because of a short term cash shortage or raise £50,000 to plug the gap which will make it possible to rebuild the Company and start the next financial year in a fit state to grow and thrive.

In response to that choice we are launching the KEEP ANJALI DANCING CAMPAIGN with the aim of raising £50,000 by the end of March 2011.

We are looking for 1,000 (one thousand) people to give £50 each to KEEP ANJALI DANCING.

Anjali needs your help:  YOU CAN

Donate £50 to Anjali online here or send a cheque to our office

Pass this message on to any of your friends or family who could help with a donation

Organise and run a fundraising event before the end of March and send the proceeds to Anjali

Keep up with how the campaign is going on this site and have your name added to the I Kept Anjali Dancing supporters’ page

Anjali works directly and intensively with about 100 children, young people and adults with learning disabilities every year in our touring company, youth dance company and regular dance classes, and hundreds more with our education and outreach projects.  In the last twelve months well over two thousand people have seen Anjali perform live.

We believe we can reach 1,000 people who value our work and will want to donate £50 to keep Anjali dancing.  We would like you to be one of them.
