Exeter’s Northcott Theatre is to go dark for two months until June 25, when the venue will participate in the Exeter Summer Festival. As a result, the administrator currently running the venue will make 27 further redundancies.
It was announced in February that the struggling Northcott Theatre in Exeter was being put into administration. Since then, nine full time staff, including the theatre’s creative director, have been made redundant.
Following the announcement that no more shows will take place at the theatre until the Exeter Summer Festival from June 25, 27 part-time and casual staff have now been laid off.
Administrator Ian Walker from Begbies Traynor said the decision had been taken with “great regret”.
