Busier than ever, braver than ever, better than ever, Summer at The Rondo is crammed with exceptional and exciting shows that sizzle and fizz with adventure.
Summer is, of course, festival season. This year, we host the brand new Larkhall Festival, which runs from Friday 1st to Monday 4th May 2009 to celebrate the creativity and talent in the local community. The festival starts at The Rondo with the Larkhall’s Got Talent Grand Final; an unforgettable evening of entertainment. (Friday 1st May at 7.30pm) This is followed by the Rondo Theatre Open Day; a chance for you to get behind the scenes and see how we run our unique venue – all for free! (Sat 2nd May, 11am – 3.30pm) And our headliners are progressive pop trio Port Erin who launch their long awaited album I’ll be On The Common. Catch them while you can; they are destined to go far… (Sat 2nd May at 8pm)
The rest of the season is just as exciting; we showcase new writing from the likes of The King’s Head’s resident company Zeitgeist; and Andy Burden makes a welcome return with an exclusive preview of Magic Thinking, co-written & performed by Eamonn Fleming. Music tantalises our ear drums with a final showdown from the brilliant Tanglefoot, while the London Philharmonic Skiffle Orchestra combine zany madcappery with faultless musicianship.
And The Rondo continues to offer some of the best comedy in the country; the brilliant Edward Aczel arrives to solve the world’s problems; and the iconic Brendon Burns returns – genuinely unmissable.
Not forgetting the Bath Music Festival, outstanding puppetry and an eclectic range of performance which gives The Rondo its edge.
